Wedding planning? |
For my advertising class my group and I are doing an advertising campaign for a local photography compnay. We decided that we're going to concentrate on the wedding section. Since no one in my group has ever gotten married we're at a stand still. SO I was wondering for the people who are married here, how did you choose a wedding photographer and where did you find your wedding photographer. Also how long did it take, what went through your mind and what made you finally choose the photographer your choose? When I got married, in a very small town, we only had one photography studio, so we didn't have any choice. But, when concentrating on how to choose a wedding photographer, you have to remember they are taking pictures that hold a lot of memories for the couple. I would consider originality, techniques, and price. I would also consider how long they have been doing this type of work. Do they have the capability to video as well as photo? Can they make CD;s of the photo as gifts for family and/or friends? Another key factor is that they take all the specific photo's they couple request. Will they do a formal portrait before the wedding? Will they include an engagement photo for the newspapers? Do they offer different packages at different prices or can they tailor the package for the customer? Can the couple come back and buy some of the pictures not included in the package --say for an anniversary or something? You have lots of things to work with. Good luck with your project. We picked a photographer after seeing the work he did for someone else. Basically it was based a lot on price. Afterwards I must say were very disappointed. He didn't take half the pictures he should have and tried to sell us the ones he did take. It was very expensive. Next time one of my kids get married, we'll probably get a bunch of friends with digital cameras and do it ourselves. Mother of the Bride. I chose the one who did my high school grad picture, he offered a package for a very reasonable price. He had more orders than he knew what to do with. It was beautiful, and he had a picture of a bride in his studio. It was gorgeous. His studio was up the street and around the corner, so he was close by. And he came highly recommended, by lots of people, I had seen his work in homes, and in displays at the mall.. And I went to school with his daughter. Nice family. He did a dark backgound, that surrounded the subject. He had a reputation for honoring his contracts. We were very happy. For us picking a wedding photographer had to be face to face once we had had a look at some sample pictures online. The personality of the photographer was very important as well as how much they were involved or just recording events. Our initial list came from searching online and the yellow pages. Not sure how long it took but the photographer was one of the first on our list of things to tick off. Finally choice was personality and sample picture that matched our imagined version of our pictures. http://www.weddingplansecrets.com/how-to... I looked in the phone book. I considered: price quotes, picture quality, outside references, choices of poses/backdrops. |
