What sixth form courses would benefit me?

hello im currently in my last year of high school and im worried about sixth form. im not sure on what subjects to take but i have some ideas on what i want to do in the future. hmm maybe something in advertising, photography, video game designing, oceanology and maybe a vet? can anyone tell me what things i need to take for these careers?

You are far better choosing the subjects you enjoy rather than the ones you think you need .
Oceanology - Biolgy , Chemistry, geography
Video games - Art, Design technology, IT
Advertising - English, Art

Vet

Chemistry, biology, physics are probably the best.

Only 6 universities in UK to choose from - 6000 applicants 600 places

Talk to somebody from careers advice, as that's very varied career choice.

If you are interested in Photography, you'll most likely find that the sixth forms in your area won't lead you onto photography directly. If photography is what you want to do, then you'd be best going to college and taking a course on photography there.

[I know as i'm in my last year of compulsory school, and my friend is extremely interested in photography].

Media = covers a huge area
IT = for your computor skills and will complement media
Art = some have photography courses
Graphics = would help with design and advertising

Those sum up most of your intrests however vet and oceanology you will need the sciences.

i'm a 6th form student myself and last year i had the same problem of not knowing what i wanted to do as a career. my advice is not to get worried about your future at the moment, everything can change.

my advice:
1. choose the subjects you enjoy the most- you will have more classes than ever in these subjects and so you don't want to be bored.

2. choose the subjects you are good at- if you want to go to a good uni then you'll need good grades.

3. take a chance- universities are wanting more and more aplicants to be more "rounded" i.e dont stick to all scientific subjects or all art subjects.

4. try something new- if there are any new subjects offered i would try one out for a week or 2 to see if you like it, if not then you are not too late to catch up on what you missed on another subject.

good luck with your choices

Media studies-advertising,video game design. Graphics- video game design, photography.Biology and chemistry-vet. Geography-oceanology. I don't think you can do 5 a levels though. It's a good idea to do a variety of a -levels cause you could change your mind about what you wanna do.
