I'm looking for a website that can give me photos which have been used in advertising, eg levis & budweiser |
I'm studying for a degree in photography and one the assignments is to analyse an advertisement. Most beer advertisements seem to be good (if you can find them). There needs to be quite alot going on in the picture as I have to write 3000 words. Any help would be great. Thanks That kind of photo would be copyright protected, I am afraid. I would say just to look in a magazine for the kind of advertisement you want, and tear it out. That would be legal to do, as you are not electronically duplicating anything that way. You would want to find a website that has "stock photos" This is a tricky one, as these images will be subject to strict copyright laws that will stop them being freely available on the internet. A good resource that you might like to investigate is the 'Art Directors Club of Europe'. This is an organisation that produces an annual yearbook featuring the best of print and on-air art-direction of the year. If I might offer some advice - but please feel free to ignore. Your task will be much easier if you pick an advertisement that is controversial or deals with an issue that makes you or others feel uncomfortable. I would stay away from things that you think are merely of aesthetic appeal. Why do I say this? Well, art is about creating and exploring emotions - even if those emotions are negative ones such as fear, discomfort or even disgust. A puppy-dog playing with toilet rolls is heart-warming, but does little to make us think about ourselves, our society or the roles which the advertised item fulfills. |
