Is it ever okay to use someone? |
I'm a painter and I've been trying for years to get my art career started but so far I'm having trouble finding a gallery that is willing to show my art since I've never sold a piece or had a show before but I met this guy whose parents run an art gallery and I'm sure he can talk to them for me if I keep talking to him. He asked me out and we have been out a couple of times. I don't really like him and I think he's ugly but if he can help me I really want to keep him around. Is that wrong? Yeah, that doesn't sound good. You don't have to pass up the potential connection, but before you ask him for anything you should be totally honest about how you feel. If you subtlely try to tie your willingness to see him with his willingness to help you, he's bound to (rightly) get a little suspicious; if you tell him that he's a nice guy but that you just don't see him "that way" then even if he's hurt he might appreciate the honesty and help you out as a friend anyway. I'm sure it's hard getting your work noticed, but int the long run it won't help you to burn your bridges this way. I'd say its wrong, you shouldn't lead him on to a fake relationship That is never okay. I say you clear it up before things turn ugly. Yea... thats pretty low, do you lack morals? |
