How would you feel if people copied your artwork?

If someone just took your music and not buy it or asked for permission. Or maybe when somebody makes a eligible copy or your work and just put it up in their art gallery.

I would be ****** off.
In fact I would probably sue the offender...

i'd be mad cause they need to be original.

well, my friends always copy my work, as well as people who sit next to me in school and stuff.

unless I let people (which isn't often) It's quite annoying because it just shows that they dont have creativity and can't do much by themselves.

but, the other way to view it is that they must either think you're smart or creative or something in order to be copying it in the first place.

I would be really angry, but somehow happy at the same time because it means my work it good !

I would be very angry, and mad. I wouldn't like it at all.

People have copied my artwork. A couple of times, I've found my own work gracing other people's webpages. I find it annoying, not flattering at all. In most cases, I'd have given permission if they had asked first, but it's rude when they just take it without asking. I have some free clipart that I make available to others, but my website clearly states what's free to the public and what isn't.

I'd be very annoyed, because I hate people being unoriginal.
And I'd be especially annoyed if they didn't ask permission.

I feel mad when they copy my images without permission.

To totally copy a person's work exactly is stealing. You are taking credit for the work of someone else. I would be disapointed if someone stole one of my ideas, especially a fellow artist. For someone to not respect my creativity and autority as an artist disturbes me...

Now if someone parodied my work... like for example people do parodies of the Mona Lisa all of the time, like Dali made a self portrait of himself in her cloths and with that background. If artists appreachiated my work so much that they wanted to incorperate it into their own composition, then I would be flattered, and have no problem with it. It is the copying that I feel is wrong.

HEINOUS CRIME.

I have had people steal my ideas.

..I have had logos stolen and used

I have shown jewelry only to have the store owner /designer (famous NYC diva) steal it in the 80's
i had someone steal my idea for a brew pub right down to the building and various use of the floors..

there was a movement in the 80's called appropriation art...people would re photo walker evans photos for ex and put that up for exhibit

if you are creative you will never run out of idea
it is part of what happens when you have vision people who don't can't see steal it...it sucks but it is reality

it is all about making and creating

I would be very upset. Totally hurt! I woyld confront whomever did it!

Did this happen to you?

well at first i get made..but then i realize that they are copying me because they like my work so I feel special..but at the same time mad

xD

It would be slightly annoying but it doesn't really matter because I know I'm the one who came up with the concept and I'd know it was mine,.

Yes, I would be very angry. But, If it were to be my friend, say, that wasn't too good at drawing, and it was just a sketch, I don't really mind. And I do hate it very much when someone askes me to do there picture at school in art class, because they think I'm good and then they'll take all of the credit.. 'Course I say no..

I wouldn't be flattered. I dislike thieves.
