There is this guy and I wonder should I be friends with him?

I said hi to him five times and he says hi. He sometimes smiles and I showed my friend who he looks like. She said he is ugly and looks a little gangster. I went to a room for an art gallery and I saw him so I said hi and said if I could sit here and he said yes. He hangs out with maybe a group of girls at lunch. Should I tell him if I could hang out with him at lunch? I love rock music but should I hang out with that guy that in my friends opinion is gangster looking. He is mexican and he sort of wears long shirts. I really want to get to know him but I am not sure if he likes rap because I really hate rap music. Should I be friends with this guy

You might just be stereotyping this guy. If you really want to get to know this guy, then you should do it. Who cares what your friend thinks about him? Your friend is not the one who wants to get to know this guy. You are. So he might like rap but you like rock? It's good to have different interests sometimes. You could educate each other on them. Just talk to him a little more and ask him if he maybe wants to hang out sometimes.

what does it matter what music he likes and as for your friend if she is a true friend then she wont care if you hang out with him lunch time and she will be happy for you dont worry about what others think if you want to be friends be friends
