I keep having the same dream every night for the last 8 days. Meaning?

This is how it goes:

I am standing in a room with white walls that look like something of an empty art gallery. There is no window or door and yet there is a soft blue light in the room, pointing from a specific spot that for some reason I cant look at. I stand there for a few minutes, then I walk around, and the weirdest things happen. I start walking around and suddenly there is a door way leading into another room, then another room, and its like I am forever walking through different rooms, all white and all looking like an empty art gallery. Then I start speaking "Hello?" And it echoes. I say hello over and over again, not saying anything else, and it always echoes. And somehow I know that I am always looking for someone, but I dont know who I am looking for exactly, only that I need to find someone or something.

This has happened every night for over a week now and dreams, people say, when you have them over and over means something. What are your thoughts on this?

White
White represents purity, perfection, peace, innocence, dignity, cleanliness, awareness, and new beginnings. You may be experiencing a reawakening or have a fresh outlook on life. However, in Eastern cultures, white is associated with death and mourning.

Painting
To see a painting in your dream, represents your need for self-expression. The painting is symbolic of your intuition and inner realizations.

Door
To dream that you are entering through a door, signifies new opportunities that will be presented before you. You are entering into a new stage in your life and moving from one level of consciousness to another. In particular, a door that opens to the outside, signifies your need to be more accessible to others, whereas a door that opens into the inside, denotes your desire for inner exploration and self-discovery.

To see opened doors in your dream, symbolizes your receptiveness and willingness to accept new ideas/concepts. In particular, to see a light behind it suggests that you are moving toward greater enlightenment/spirituality.

Revolving Door
To see revolving doors in your dream, suggests that you are literally moving in circles and going no where. You may feel that your opportunities and choices lead to a dead end.

Most dreams contain messages that serve to teach us something about ourselves. Unfortunately many a times we forget what we dream about as we go about our daily routine. With recurring dreams, the message may be so important and/or powerful that it just will not go away. The frequent repetition of such dreams forces you to pay attention and confront the dream. The dream is trying desperately to tell you something. Such dreams are often nightmarish or frightening in their content, which also helps you to take notice and pay attention to them.

Recurring dreams are quite common and are often triggered by a certain life situation or a problem that keeps coming back again and again. These dreams may recur daily, once a week, or once a month, but whatever the frequency, there is little variation in the dream content itself. It usually points to a personal weakness, fear, or your inability to cope with something in your life - past or present.

The repetitive patterns in your dream can reveal some of the most valuable information on yourself. It may point to a conflict, situation or matter in your waking life that remains unresolved or unsettled. Or some urgent underlying message in your unconscious is demanding to be understood.

Following are some tips in overcoming your recurring dreams.

1. In understanding your recurring dream, you must be willing to accept some sort of change or undergo a transformation.

2. You must be willing to look within yourself and confront whatever you may find no matter how difficult it my be.

3. You must be able to look at the dream from an objective point of view. Try to get pass the emotional and reactive elements of the dream and get down to the symbolic images. Many times dreams are masked by elements that are disturbing preventing you to delve any deeper. This is a defense mechanism that your unconscious may be putting up.

4. Be patient. Do not get discourage if these dreams still recur even after you thought you have come to understand them.

5. Learn to accept yourself truly and fully.

Often times, once you discover what your recurring dream is trying to tell you, these dreams will change or altogether disappear

If you are expecting company, they may not show up or if they do, they may be hard to get in touch with mentally. I think that there is something that you are not wanting to face in your life. That is why you refuse to look at the bright light blue light. And the empty white rooms. The white is a good thing for sure. It is always good to have white. It means pure and good.I do believe that after 8 days it is something that is going to happen and come to pass, for it keeps repeating itself, it will play itself through to the end until the whole comes out.

Dreams are always a little more straightforward than you think they are, at least when it comes to Who's and Where's. Chances are, if you're looking for someone in a dream, it means either you're looking for someone you haven't met yet (and would therefore fulfill some sort of need by doing so), or something has happened to someone you haven't seen in awhile. I mean, do you have any artist-friends you haven't seen in awhile? Namely troubled artist-friends?

You may be looking for yourself. The color white is usually a sign of purity and calm. Blue...clarity and truth. The various rooms can relate to your subconcious mind. You finding them is finding new areas of yourself. That can also relate to new strengths and emotional growth. Generally when you have a recurring dream it does mean something more so than any other. All dreams mean something and one can gain great insight when researching their meanings. Think about things going on in your life at the moment because they affect everything. Good luck.

i think your dream is saying something about emptiness and barriers. Like the white can represent nothingness or oblivion for some, the doors can symbolize a new place like opening different doors lead to different places in the mind or different thoughts. You are in search, keep that in mind, ask yourself, do you have a reason to be searching? then, compare you thoughts of this whole week, has something been stressing you out to affect your dreams? Then your standing in your dream shows being absent or idle. If you have this dream again, try to look closer at everything, is there something you are over looking? can you see anything hidden on the walls? Maybe you dream is connected to last week, if you keep having this same dream, you must analyze all thoughts, and feelings, to really find a good clue on what this could mean.

I totally agree with Stepherz. I think you are probably searching for yourself. Are you trying out new things in life right now or maybe new ways of thinking to try and satisfy a need in you? Maybe the white walls are waiting to be painted on by you. Maybe you have been looking outside of yourself and what you are searching for is right inside of you. You are the one your looking for!

you feel as though you have an empty life that is going nowhere?

When you have a recurring dream, it means that your subconscious is trying to tell you something and that you are not "getting" the message.

The message seems to be something about being in a situation where you can do anything - your life is like an empty gallery just waiting for you to decide which "pictures" to hang up - and then you select a course of action - the doors leading from one room to another - but the course of action doesn't lead anywhere because it all looks the same no matter where you go.

Then you have the element of searching for someone or something but you don't know what it is.

I would say (without knowing anything about you) that you are at an intersection in your life where you can choose a new career or relationship, and you are stuck in a holding pattern.
