Is a Thomas Kinkade canvas from a limited edition but it is not numbered is it worth more ?

I just spent alot of money on a beautiful Thomas Kinkade limited edition "A New Day at Cinderella's Castle". I searched all over and they were extremely hard to find . I did however find one that i purchased the woman on the phone explained to me that the one i was purchasing was far more valuable then many because this one was not numbered . She said that it is one of the originals that was created for gallery showings before they had decided to start producing them as a limited edition and numbering them . I recieved my painting and it looks amazing and truly genuine and also cam with a certifacte of Authenticity . But since Im not much of an art wiz I cant help but wonder if it is or isnt more valuable then the numbered ones ... Can some one please help ease my curiousity!..
Thank you

If it isn't a signed original or a signed and number limited edition then it is worthless.

Real artists sign the kind of pieces you are referring to and mark them A/P for "Artist's Proof".

Also it is a PRINT not a painting. He has one original painting, the rest are copies of that painting. Please study up on the art market before making such investments.

Kinkade is a business with "master highlighters" and other marketing gimmicks that have nothing to do with the true art world.

There are EIGHT levels of print quality:

This is a huge scam and he has made a lot of money off of people like you. Except for the rarest items, the market is so filled with Kinkade that it is worthless.

A painting is only worth what a collector wants to pay for it. Numbered or not, the painting does have worth to it.

Da Vinci and all of those before this new age of painting didn't number their paintings, nor did they put "AP" on their paintings either. You can contact Thomas Kinkade through his website, and eventually get a response. Take a picture of the painting and email it to him.

You should not spend large sums of money on art if you don't know what you are purchasing. In one paragraph, you have said your piece is "a canvas from a limited edition", "a limited edition", and "an original". It cannot be all three.

An original painting would be worth more than any reproduction of one. Only reproductions or original prints (etching, silkscreen, lithograph, etc.) would be signed and numbered. Thomas Kinkade does not make original prints, though. He makes paintings, and then produces extremely large "limited" editions by digitally reproducing those paintings onto paper or canvas. The edition sizes are usually so large as to be more "limitless" than limited. They are a very poor investment in my opinion.

If you have an original oil painting of his, and if so the certificate of authenticity should say "oil on canvas", then you've got something that was probably worth the money in terms of resale value (meaning you can probably find a buyer). Otherwise not.

I just went to his website and there is nothing listed for Cinderella. He did do a print for the 50th anniversary of Disney. Could this be what you have?

I would imagine that if he had done a piece it would be on his website. If you don't see it there, chances are you have been taken. Sorry.
