Should parents be more considerate when bringing their.....?

...child into libraries, quiet dining establishments, bookstores, art galleries, businesses...and all other professional or quiet places?

Quiet your child, or leave until your child is quiet! You are disrupting everyone else. Why should you have the right to ruin my time? What, because you had a kid, that makes it alright? Those places are not Chuck E. Cheese or Toysrus.

It isn't about hating you parents that bring kids. It is about you respecting the fact that we deserve peace in the quiet places. You don't get special license for popping out kids, and we shouldn't be punished for not having them.

I have two daughters, whenever we are out we expect them to be on their best behavior or we are going home. I will not allow my kids to treat public places as if they are a playground. My kids stay with me at all times and I never let them roam free. I hate when parents are oblivious of how their kids are acting in front of other people/parents/kids.

Until my children behave appropriately, I don't take them to certain establishments. If people find cell phones disruptive, how would they stand an out of control toddler!
I take my 5 oldest children(10,8,6,4,2) to the library and have never caused a moment of disruption. I don't take them until they are old enough to understand and comply with the rules of conduct. When I take my children to the park, I wouldn't want some grumpy old adult running around telling my childen to stop running, playing and squeeling. It would ruin our fun, and if he doesn't like it then he shouldn't go to the park. The same rule applies to families with children. Its common courtesy.

I understand what you are saying. I have 10 month old twin boys. My husband and I like to go out to dinner a lot. We sometimes like to go to places that aren't super kid friendly, but we have no one around to watch our kids. We try and be considerate if one of the boys starts screaming or getting really loud we will take him outside for a little bit until he calms down. You have to remember that a lot of people want to have kids and do have kids and a lot of people don't have anyone that can babysit for them. Please don't hate us, but sometimes you have to deal with a child screaming at the table next to you. If you don't have kids right now you probably will someday and your going to want to go to a nicer resturant and have no one to babysit for you. Then what will you do? I would never take my infants to the movies, but we do frequent the library and other mesuems (for my benefit and entertainment) and I try to have them behave, but it doesn't always happen the way you want it to.

Im currently pregnant and agree with you 100%. Even being pregnant now I cant stand when Im in an R rated movie or at a restaurant that is absolutely not kid friendly and people insist on bringing their children there. When I do give birth and have my Son, we will go places that are child friendly OR have Grandma watch him, so my Hubby and I can have a night out alone.

I see where you are coming from but children just don't bother me.
If an infant is screaming his head off, yes it is annoying.

The parents have every right to be where ever they choose and yes maybe they should quiet children in quiet settings but they cant keep children quiet all the time.

It just does not work!!

I understand what you are saying.I agree that parents should make their children behave in public, regardless of where they are.I also think that parents still have a right to go where they want if they have children or not. Some people don't see it that way & I guess there is nothing we can do about it.

I agree with you. I'm a mother of 3. If we want to take our children out we go somewhere kid friendly. If my husband and I go out alone we go somewhere that will be quiet. We don't want to be disturbed by other people's children.

i believe if your child is not able to behave in those places then you should not be there until your child can.
