Did you hear about this guy who starved a dog to death for 'art'?

I have just found a video about a guy who took a dog from the streets and left him to starve in a 'open art gallery' in the name of art.
How many of you have heard about this?

I hadn't heard about this, it is cruel in the extreme and inhumane. I hope he's prosecuted, that poor dog must have suffered unimaginable distress before dying of dehydration and malnutrition.

This is the first I have heard of this. That video was disturbing. I can't understand some people, and that may be the reason I prefer the company of my animals over most people. And the fact that he "won" first prize is just mind boggling.

I don't cry, yet I just did. I'm a grown a$$ed man and I couldn't help but start blubbering watching this video. I am def. gonna sign the petition and I hope that God has no mercy on that mans soul.

After watching that video, I'm in tears and literally shaking. This guy is a sick F*ck who deserves to be put in an exhibit and starved to death. And what of the visitors? I would have taken that dog and not gave a damn if I upset this "artist" and to make the sign of the exhibit in dog food, F*ck this guy F*ck the A*sH*oles who gave him an award and F*ck the country who hasn't thrown him in jail yet!

Yes, and there are petitions online that you can sign, protesting his upcoming "shows" in other countries. What I also find horrifying is the number of people who were willing to just look at his "exhibit" and didn't feel compelled to do anything about it. Very few people tried to give the dog food or water but were stopped by the jerk that calls himself an artist. Someone should have had him arrested.

People that torture animals like this sometimes go on to torture people like this. As far as I am concerned, he's no better than a serial killer. I'd have to have gone to jail if I saw that because I would not ASK the artist if I could feed and water that poor dog or take it out of the gallery. What a sick, deviant creep. I hope his next and last "art piece" is him- starving himself to death.
EDIT: I researched this on SNOPES and it is "undetermined". According to an article the artist wanted to show how people would be outraged at a dog starving at the exhibition but would pass a stray that is starving on the sts without a second look. The art gallery says the dog was fed (sure doesn't look like it to me) and that it "escaped in the night". Others allege it died of starvation. In any case- it's still a very sadistic thing to do to make a point. This was from Oct. 2007.

Yes,I heard about it and posted a link to the story on my Multiply blog. It is unbelievable that he was allowed to do that.and more unbelievable that people just walked by and did nothing for the dog. This is a very sick world.

This is just horrid I look at my two fuzzy kids and start to cry. That man is a sick sick person and I think we need to tie him to a small piece of rope glue human food into words above his head and leave him there to die so he know how it is. I don't know what's worse, the artist or all the people who went to see it and did nothing about it. Talk about a bunch of creeps! There is a special place in hell for people like them. ALL of them.

I read about it and I must say I was mortified!!! As a dog lover and an aspiring artist I must say this man made his way into my nightmares easily!! He's a disgrace to the world of art and a monster to the world of animal lovers.

Barbaric.........and the people walking around are just as bad. I saw on the TV last night a man who had stuck his dog in a washing machine.....and turned it on, he claims he was drunk.

These stories give me nightmares, just awful.

It's extremely sick and sad to think of that as art.

I would very much like to do the same thing to the so-called artist.

I wish people would get as emotional here about the animals they eat on a daily basis and the cruelty necessary to supply them at low cost.
