Starving a dog to death in the name of art?

This question was put in l999 and I make no apologies for bringing it to light again. The 'artist 'Guillermo Vargas Habacue has been invited to repeat this cruel act in 2008 because it has been decided by the Visual Arts Biennial of Central America that this 'installation 'was actually art. This 'art' involved taking a dog from the streets and tying it up in the art gallery and starving it to death while visitors looked on.

Dinozol, is a very unfortunate human being. Most decent people are repelled, disgusted and upset by any kind of suffering, be it human or animal. If this "artist" wants to starve something, it should be himself. He has a choice. The dog doesn't. I shall sign the petition. It may or maynot make a difference, but we won't know till we try.
Dinozol, people with your attitude don't really seem to relate well to animals, people or children. As a rule, people that care for other people are generally sensitive to all living beings. What makes you think people are more important than animals anyway? Why should we be? Because we are the only species that abuse other species for our own pleasure? Does that make us better? More important? Guess what? We are not MORE important. We all NEED each other in this eco system of ours. You wouldn't be able to live in your insensitive, safe little world without animals, birds or even creepy little insects contribution to this planet. I doubt very much you have ever helped a child in need in your life. I have done fostering, caring for children, I have done and still do animal rescue and even take rescues into schools to teach children to respect ALL living things.

I am signing the petition as soon as I have answered this question. Why are there no animal rights people trying to stop this, and why are foreigners so cruel to animals??

If the dog was being sacraficed to feed a human being, it could be accepted, but causing suffering in the name of ART ?? All I can say is you must be as sick as the bastad artist!!!!!
