OIL PASTELS: suggest how to frame 'em 4 sale, not much space at edges? |
looiking to put body of art work up for sale, oil pastel framing? How to contact galleries to send images: email? discs? Good advise on the layering idea. Oil pastels never ever dry, so they must be framed behind glass, with a mat on top of the image to keep it from touching the glass. Don't go real cheap on the framing - professionally framed art fetches a professional price. Make your art look like it's worth buying as-is. If you contact a gallery via email, use only a couple of very small jpgs in your email body (not as large attachments, which they will not take the time to open). Do call to make an appointment. Ask then if they would prefer email or cd. Good fortune! Source(s): artist and gallery owner just sell them on ebay. Create space by laying them on a larger piece of card, then use a cut to size mask over the top to pre-frame the work before actual framing. I would send a disc to galleries with a letter of introduction, using your best work to create the cover - also offer a link to a web gallery for them to browse. The web gallery can also be used to sell your work. Best of luck with your venture |
