Hello I am a science fiction artist (Designer): http://bazayochit.deviantart.com/gallery...
I live in canada, Now I am 19 but since 16 years old I needed help to get to some place where they care about me and connect me to some work or something, I talked to 5 popular people in art and they said that you should practice hard, copy other artists, have to love what you're doing, master anathomy and perspective and make a new and a very good portfolio, What I want is to go to some club or company where I can work forever, and since 18 years old I really wanted to go to california( is a center for artists in the world); and I want to have my diploma in california; For those of you that have solutions and are somehow similar to me please give me some solutions before its too late and until I haven't lost my talent!
First, you will never loose your talent. Second, you are a really good artist! I love Backroyt. Third, You might want to think about becoming a storyboard artist for films. I know for a fact that Directors hate doing them, but they do need to be done for the planning process. I'm studying to become a storyboard artist. About the california thing, you should go to The Art Academy in San Francisco. They have a pretty good program and the housing is more inexpensive (or so I heard). The only advice I can give to you is to be real friendly and not self absorbed when meeting new possible contacts. And never treat them like they are just contacts! Be friendly but professional at the same time. Get a collection of all your best work together, choose your favs and put them in your portfolio. Also remember, sometimes we have to take a different road to get to where we want to be. What exactly is it you want to do? Set up some realistic goals, research what it will take to get there, make a plan, and you should always keep your head alert for possible oppurtunities.
Hope I helped. If you need more help, feel free to email me.
