Don't you find hilarious people who pretend/fake to like "modern" arts? |
like a TV on a Red chair...etc Many times I have been to galleries where people seem to watch very attentively at a piece of art and you can see they're not interested...just faking to please a girlfriend or show off...etc.. any similar experiences? It is even worse when they **** their heads from side to side to figure out what they are looking at. I made the mistake of asking what the heck I was looking at in a gallery in London and got some stares. Which was really funny, my daughter and I had the giggles all the time. I think some of them are just shocked that a gallery would call a pile of junk, art. Like the brush splatter painting that's supposedly worth $50 million dollars. My kid was doing better pictures than that in preschool! A friend was at a London gallery recently full of arties talking to each other at the tops of their voices and paying no attention at all to the "art". Not surprising as it was a looped film of m/f anal sex, close up, with a soundtrack of an orchestra playing one single note. i know....i used to act like that to try to fit into a certain group.....i would stare at a blue blob on a white background and say, "hmmmm....that reminds me of suffering..." now i look at it and say, "hmmm........why would someone spill blue paint on a piece of paper and call it abstract... when i know it sux....." i've see pictures of campbell's soup cans and urinals presented as art.....i just laugh and say...umm, isn't this supposed to be an art museum....if i wanted to see this....i could go to a garbage dump......... real art is nature depicted with wonderful colors that pop out of the canvas.....abstract is picasso not finger painting....that is no talent Hans Christan Anderson's tale 'The Kings new Clothes' describes these people exactly. Every child hears the story at school, I guess it was too complicated for these pompous oafs to understand I used to share my house with a guy who was an 'artist' and he was a classic for that sort of rubbish. He was a real kn*bjockey as well, I hated him!! He used to make stupid art that people pretended to like. He even put up a couple of his hideous pictures in my living room!! I, however, did not pretend to like them. hmm, whilst focusing on the faults of others, one says so much about ones own short comings and failings. |
