I am looking at buying a painting in Bali - the artist is Ida Bagus Ketut Panda - any idea how to value it?


I don't know much about Bali artwork. I've searched the net for exhibitions of his work outside Bali and found http://www.bali-art.nl/catalogue.php?art... - the work is similar to that one - the asking price is USD $7K at the gallery, and clearly it's overpriced, so I'm trying to work out what a fair price is so that I don't over pay.. I'm wondering if $2500 seems a fair estimate for the work, given limited information on the artist outside of the gallery?

When You estimate the painting you need to estimate the quality of artwork, (size, subject, teqnique, materials, framed/not framed, how many hours artist spent)
But You will not pay for them, but for the vision of artworsk and the name of artist.
