Any artists out there needing studio space? (Suffolk County)? |
One of my main resolutions is to open an art studio business in the next month or so offering studio space for about 10-15 painters and sculptors, hopefully in Patchogue. I'm looking for the perfect spot, and any interested artists. Membership will be by the month or the year, but a guest pass will also be available by the day, reserved ahead if time. There will be classes, lectures, gallery/museum trips, and also, members will periodically be encouraged to organize shows, both on premesis, and at galleries, libraries, schools etc. I'm a co-founder of a 4 year old gallery in Port Jeff, but I need more studio space, and the energy of people around me to keep me working. I have had this idea developing for the past year, and it has become important for me to follow through, and make it happen. I'll be advertising in some papers and magazines, but I couldn't resist starting on this site first. A creative, productive New Year to all, Darryl post on craigslist.org Not at this point. Ironically, the ones I've been to in California have tended to "gentrify" the area resulting in driving out the artists due to rent increases. |
