How do I get my talent recognised/noticed????? |
I am really really good at art and it is a talent. My family, my friends and my school art teacher recognise it. But the thing is I want to develop it further. I do GCSE art, but I want it noticed. I want people to notice it, to know me for it, for my art to be displayed in galleries. Does anybody have any hints or tips????? Thanks YEAH MAN GET SOME TALENT! No, seriously, you need to find a mate or someone who can set up a website for you and give it a cool name and possibly advertise. Alternatively, maybe a real good search will yield some sites where they are interested in viewing material but first stop - get it ww! Source(s): luv (no x's) Develop a portfolio and take it round some local galleries. Lots of leg work, but it can work. Get to know what sort of stuff they show, how much commission they charge etc as well so you go in with your eyes open. Once you get known locally, you can develop a cv of what you have accomplished (eg. show in suchandsuch gallery) to try to reach wider ranging galleries. If you set up a website to get known, make sure you copyright your pictures etc somehow eg. overlay "copyright" on them, else people will just be able to download your stuff and you wouldn't really get anything from that. I think there may be a way to stop pictures being saved onto disc as well, but you would need an IT person I think to help you. Mother in law! Well confidence certainly isn't a problem for you. If you want to get noticed and have your work displayed in galleries, start a portfolio NOW! Then you can contact places in any way you want - email, in person - whatever, and see what the reaction is. You will have to have a lot in your portfolio though so be warned - you have a lot of hard work in front of you. Nobody will entertain you if you only give a couple of examples of what your capabilities are. If you want to be a professional artist then you will have to be completely dedicated to it. Good luck! Why not use the Internet Technologies to display your art? You could produce your own Live Broadcast as well. Just email me at suzanne101@vmdirect.com and I will give you all the information you need with pleasure. I'm sure you are good at art but don't try and rush into it finish you GCSE and then perhaps go to university to study for a degree in art you will have to be really lucky to just get famous without working to hard. There are thousands or artist out there and it is a very competitive market as most artist struggle. You should join a local art society who put on exhibitions and perhaps ask cafe and restaurants if they would display your work. You have to cost into the painting what your time and materials and framing have amounted to. The galleries will take a commission starting at 25% and can be as much as 50%. Some artist are trying ebay for sales but you ought to set a minimum price you would accept for your work. Good Luck |
