How do you become a visual artist in NYC when you are self-trained, and therefore have no art school networking or connections? I already live in NYC. How do I get to show my art in cafes or galleries??
prepare a professional looking portfolio and bring them to cafes and galleries. they always welcome new artists and new art works.
photocopy your work and wheatpaste them everywhere in NYC is fun too!!!
my guess would be to go to galleries and show your portfolio. Go to art galleries whenever there are other shows going on, network with other artist. You can most of the time get your foot into the door just from networking
