Looking for a young, male artist whose paintings look like photographs? |
I'm not big into art, but I visited a gallery on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas about four years ago that featured a younger (early twenties) artist who painted pictures of friends that looked like photographs. They were amazing. I realize many painters/artists attempt to paint works that look as real as possible, but this guy's art was so realistic it was amazing. Unfortunately, I can't find his name or samples of his art anywhere. I want to say his name is Thomas, but honestly, I have no idea what that is based on, it's just the name that comes to me. I'm hoping someone can help? Does anyone know which artist this is that I am referencing? I believe he was a college student or recent graduate, I believe he was from the Northeast, I know he was just becoming known on a national level, and most of his pictures were of his friends hanging out in groups.
