The best bits of Glasgow?

I'll be spending a week in Glasgow and need some ideas for entertaining myself during the daylight hours.Been once before, loved the Gallery of Modern Art and shopping on the lovely Buchanan Street. People watching at Royal Exchange Square also took up a lot of my time! But what now?! Best bits please?

Go people watch from the open coffee bars in Princes Square on Buchanan Street. Loads to see in there, some beautiful shops, lovely art prints for sale too. If you are lucky enough to be in Glasgow when it isn't raining, take a wander through Kelvingrove Park, there are nice views of the University spire and also a cool skateboard rink to watch the skaters. If you like Buchanan Street, you will like Byres Rd too. There are afew wee coffee shops, quite a cosmoplitan feel to it. If you go to Hillhead Underground, come out and turn to your right and just wander. Opposite Marks and Spencer, round the courner from teh Underground, there is a wee lane that Buddha and the Beanscene are on. There are some unusal wee gift shops there and then Decourcy;s Arcade is a hidden gem, brilliant for browsing. Acroos from the Underground, by subway, there is another wee lane to go down and investigate. Interesting second hand clothing shops there and a nice restuarant. Tinderbox is great for people watching too, as is Starbucks. Head up to Oran Mor at lunchtime to see A Play, A Pie and A Pint - it's exactly what it says! It's about a tenner, and the play is on about 12.30pm. Your ticket price gets you a pie and a pint when you go in too. There is generally a different play on every week. The city centre is quite small for such a big city, so you can easily just wander around and always be close to something interesting.

Have fun! Source(s): i am from Glasgow
