How can I make my pictures look real? |
I really want to improve the quality of my artwork and whenever I draw they don't really look real. Has anyone got any tips? You can look at my pics in my gallery at fan art central: http://www.fanart-central.net/user-golli... If you're wanting photorealism... To add depth to drawings, you need to focus on darks and lights... make sure to take notice shadow and highlight. There will be fully black parts and fully white parts in any image. The next thing is, for example, when drawing hair, don't just draw lines, actually use darkness and highlight to represent the volume of the hair and head. The head has volume and is represented, again, by light and dark. You should get multiple pencil lead hardnesses to accomplish this. The B leads are soft, the H leads are hard. Use the soft leads for dark places and the harder leads to create hard edges. Be careful with the hardest leads, though, they can rip your paper. Use hard gradated edges, but not lines. The only lines in nature are telephone lines. :) Soft edges on pencil drawings of people leads to less of a realistic look. Real life image have solid hard edges. The only time you want to use a soft edge is if you're trying to show gradation (smearing) or if you're wanting to simulate focal blur. As far as the facial features, you should get a book on proportions of the head. It will explain in detail how to draw a diagram of the head before you begin the actual drawing. This way, you get the eyes, nose and mouth in the correct position and size. These are all key to making drawings appear more realistic and convincing. Source(s): Graduated with a BS in Illustration. those are really good!! jeeshh, you got talent. you can try going to an art class and asking them how to make them look realistic. but to me they look realistic! or google "drawing" the head is always 7 times the size of the body...the eyes are the same width as the nose...hope that helped THOSE ARE AWSOME!!!and it really helps to get a step by step book spam You just need to practice more. |
