I am a frustrated "professional" fine artist that teaches part time and has 3 children.?

my 17 year old has a lot of problems and I also take care of my elderly mother. yet I am so hungry to "get out there" with my art, showing in galleries again etc. I am starting a website too but never enough time. I want and wish to paint, but ah huh, never enough time. any suggestions? I am already 48 years old and I am so afraid my time is gone that i lost my chance to share my work/gift/talent and I feel that I am caught between two worlds and the care taking world rules all the time.

I am also 48 and with a lot of dreams still hidden in my pocket. Somehow, you (we) have to find the way to have some time and energy invested in your own project. Your children need you now but they will grow up and have a life of their own; all (most) of us take care of our elder parents... so that is a reality that you can麓t change right now, but could deal with.
In my case, I am trying to go with a schedule (the difficult part is to start and stick to it, once you get used it's a lot easier) so I have saved two hours at nights, going to bed later, to my writing; and also the weekends. That's in my case because I have a full time job. Maybe you can work out some other timing not only to do your painting but to make the contacts necessary to show your art and be a little "out there". Do it now before another ten years pass you by.
I wish you the best of lucks.
sounds to me like you need to sit and really think about your values, and then prioritize. If you find that painting and getting exposure ranks high up on the list then you MUST make time for it, even if that means sacrificing time elsewhere. your 17 yr old should pretty much be able to take care of himself no?
It is very hard to find time to paint and gain the experience that is necessary to become a gallery artist. I am have been drawing my whole life and recently have decided to start painting to be shown in a gallery. I now only work 2 days a week and paint 10-16 hours a day on others. Some of the greatest artists of all time, they gave up everything to be artists and most of the time never "make it" until years after their death. So paint for you and have fun. People will find you.
