I would like to expose my painting,can somebody tell me what is the first step for an exposition? |
I'm a painter by hobby,now I have more than 20 huge canvas in oils and acrilics,I would like to know how I can expose my art in galleries. Any body please tell me what should be the first step.?? If you have not already, build a website. It is hard to get work but in galleries so you have to build awareness. Find high traffic places to display you art. No store openings are sometimes looking for art to decorate. Community centers usually have art shows and some galleries, ever couple of months have open art shows and if you sign up early enough you can get a spot in the show. But the main thing is to begin to build awareness and let people see you style. Good Luck! Exhibit? Take clear digital shots, assemble them into a book/portfolio, and go talk to gallery owners. They may give you a show, or make you a part of a themed show. Be business-like. When you're just beginning it's best to make a portfolio. You could start with galleries, but a lot of time you can start with an even smaller step by going to coffee shops that display local art. This may be preferable, especially if you're a little nervous about doing your first "show." Good luck! :D |
