"Maurice Utrillo" ? |
I have a painting signed by Maurice Utrillo V. It's painted on canvas and I believe it is of a street in Italy and it has a man standing on the street and to the right of him is a small red building with....."liqueur store" written on it. Can anyone help me find out what this painting is worth? I have looked in art galleries and websites and I can not find this painting anywhere. Please lead me in the right direction. Thank you! Utrillo, Maurice ADVERTISEMENT (tr膿麓l艒, Fr. m艒r膿s麓 眉tr膿l艒麓) , 1883鈥?955, French painter. He was the son of the painter Suzanne Valadon and was adopted by the writer Miguel Utrillo. His mother taught him to paint in order to divert him from the alcoholism that ravaged him from a very early age. Utrillo's favorite themes were the street scenes of Paris, particularly of Montmartre, and Montmagny. Within an almost hallucinatory vision, he developed a personal style based on a modified cubism and a fine sense of atmosphere and composition. In his later years he lost much of his original power.
