Minneapolis anyone?!?!?!? |
well I'm a senior in high school and this coming August I'll be heading out to NCU. (North Central University) in minneapolis Minnesotta. (It's a christian school.) and I'm going to vist North Central in June. (Its located in Downtown so there's ALOT of good attractions...wonderful shops, art galleries, museums, restaurants...cafes..and is only 30 minutes away from Mall of America...) and I was wondering if anyone has ever been to Minneapolis. And if so, what would you recommend for a soon-to-be college student to do..where I can have fun, enjoy myself..and not have to spend alot of money on restaurants, stores..etc to enjoy myself? I'm not a clubbing type of person so I won't be going to clubs (since I'm going to a christian sschool, and the fact that I am a christian..) but where are the good trendy shops, cool cafes, restaurants for a teenage girl like me..who's going to be a college freshman in only 3 months! Thannk You! A popular cafe for college students is the Purple Onion. It's around the University of Minnesota campus. I would say that pretty much anyone that comes to Minneapolis ends up going to the Mall of America. The stores aren't really cheap places to shop at, but it can be fun to just walk around or you could plan on going on a day where they are having an event. Nicollet mall (a pedestrian/bus only street) in downtown has a lot of stores you could try- there's a Gap, Target, Macy's, Neiman Marcus, Saks 5th Avenue discount store, and a lot of other little shops. For downtown restaurants, I would try Pizza Luce if you like pizzas that aren't typical (check out their menu online at pizzaluce.com). If you can make a trip to Stillwater (about 45 minutes from Minneapolis) that's also nice on a warm day! There are a ton of lakes you could walk around or swim at. You might find some good stuff to do if you look at www.exploreminnesota.com I went there years ago to Mayo clinic, if you like the city life you will enjoy it. |
