Berlin Berlin Berlin - what can I do? |
I am a female traveling on my own. I have 3 days in Berlin. Where do I go, what do I see? I don't want to miss a thing! I have an idea what museums and art galleries to go to; but nightlife? What's good? I know you said you are all set on museums but don't miss the Bauhaus Archive - (if you are into the arts) its out of the way but worth it. http://www.bauhaus.de/english/ And if you have a chance take the train to Frankfurt an der Oder - about an hour ride from Berlin - trains run all the time. From Frankfrut Oder you can walk across the bridge to Poland! How crazy is that? Sometimes it takes a while though since everyone waits in line to run across and get cheap cigaretts. But it neat to see the difference just walking through the Polish neighborhood - and while you are at it Frankfurt(O) is quite the DDR relic. About nightlife there are a LOT of students in Berlin so there is always something going on. Night spots don't get going with a crowd till around 10pm. My favorite place for cocktails was Victoriabar on Potsdamer Stra脽e - swanky. Reingold was also a favorite, but hidden (Novalisstr) - more laid back.
