I have an oil painting and need to know how to find the value of it? |
the paper work says united states commemorative fine art gallery - george henderson the picture is: mountain path & mountain rock, displayed with sierra sunrise/ no.00174. this all the information that i have and need to know where to find value and history thanks exhibit proofs-luis escobedo First off look at the signature and then goggle the name of the artist and see if he/she is still alive or if their work is being sold some where. If you cannot find the artist, or their web site, on the Internet, you can pay to have a certified appraiser do more research but it will cost you some money. If you have a number on the painting, I suspect it may be a reproduction of an oil or a canvass transfer, and not an original painting. You might run it buy a local art gallery and see if they can tell you for sure before you spend money on an appraiser. Banks Fine Art in Dallas Texas is a certified appraiser and you can contact Mr. Banks by email or phone. Watch the documentary movie " who in the heck is Jackson Pollic" for a real lesson in how art is appraised. Try to go on the web site of Christie's auction house you can ask your question there and they will look it up for you, also you might try your local gallery or art dealer. http://www.piotrwolodkowicz.com... |
