I'm fixing up my resume, and I'm having a hard time deciding whether to use a chronological or functional format. I'm a recent college graduate, with skills and experience in a wide area, all of which are applicable to the jobs I am applying to. I am hesitant to use chronological because some of it is redundent (three bartending positions in five years!) and one of my main qualifications - managing an art gallery - was three years ago.... Would a functional layout be appropriate? Do employers frown upon that and prefer the traditional chronological format? Any feedback would be amazing. Thank you!!!!
I believe that you should use a functional resume because this type of resume is the best in situations when you've gained experience and qualifications by studying or working to demonstrate your competency. You should list your skills in order of importance.
If you don't make up your mind on what type of resume you should write I recommend you to use a combo resume(functional and chronological combined).
