PLease help me with this math question.? |
An art gallery owner want to frame a 30in wife portrait of poet Maya Angelou. He want the width of the framed poster to be 38 1/2 in. How wide should each section of the frame be? Subtract 30 from 38 1/2 = 8 1/2 inches, divide that in two for each side=4 1/2 inch. However, what is not mentioned in the problem is that there is usually an overlap of 1/8 to 1/2 on each side so that the frame slightly covers and anchors in the painting. so, unless there is more information, go wth the first answer. However, if this is a real life problem, consider the overlap in the equation. find the width and the lenght first Shouldn't be 38 1/2 minus 30? 8 1/2 inches left, but you have both sides of the frame, so each side should be 4 1/4 inches. does it say the length? 15m find lenght then widht 381/2-30 = 8 1/2 each side will be 8 1/2 /2 = 4 1/4 in |
