How do I sell my paintings online besides using e-bay?

I've called Sold-It on e-bay and asked them if paintings sell a lot. They said not even the paintings done by famous artists get sold much. So I wonder, is there another way, besides using an art gallery or e-bay, to catch people who love art, their eyes?

Hi- I am a writer for Blogging Baby, and I am doing a feature on gifts for kids/parents that were made by independent designers/artists/craftspeople... I'm not as crafty as I wish I was, but I thought I'd spread the word about this scene as much as possible because I really respect it. Blogging Baby gets 30,000 hits a day and I'm hoping to help some good people make some money.

I have published a draft of this Shopping Guide on my blog: Sweet Juniper (guide is here).

I would REALLY love anyone's input about other crafty folk who sell their baby/kid/parent related wares online via their own websites, or through etsy if they also have their own websites or blogs with good pictures. I am not trying to be exclusive, but I've exhausted what I could come up with without mor ehelp from the experts!

Thanks,

Dutch

you could set up your own website about you and your art!
You can always make your own website and get yourself on a search engine. But that is your decision and how much work you want to put into it.There are alot of people out there that like to buy paintings from up and comers and if they catch their eyes they might order more from you.You just have to set up your own website and get onto a search engine.
You can set up your own website, and advertise youself on blogs, myspace and such.
Here's where I show mine and it is now free. I had to pay big bucks to join but your timing is better!

Good luck!
I've made plenty of money selling my work on ebay, and I have yet to find any better way online. I used to sell work off of my web-site as well, but ebay worked far better.

There's also ubid.com, but I never had any results.

When selling on ebay be sure to use a really good template, flatter your work with some close-ups, and engage the viewer with some interesting details. I recommend using the template tool at http://www.ebsqart.com/ to create the html you use with your ebay listings. It helped my own sales quite a bit.

I hope this helps!
