If I wanted to have my photographs exhibited what would be the best way of going about that? |
I am trying to get into photography as a profession and am wondering how I can get art galleries interested in my work. I have just recently moved to the Kansas area and was wondering where I could go or what I need to do to get the attention of gallery owners. Any help would be appreciated http://www.fanartreview.com/index.jsp?re... is a great place to start off and build fame. It not like the other sites. You can sell your work, enter contests and win money, and get great feedback from artists and buyers all over the world. Source(s): http://www.fanartreview.com/index.jsp?re... First of all, have a solid portfolio of your work, including prints to exhibition standard (double weight fibre based paper and archivally treated (selenium/platinum prints) if B&W, archival quality C41 process for colour print film, or Cibachrome if slides) . By a pair of walking shoes and some throat lozenges. Check out the galleries and get an idea which ones might be interested in your work. Talk to the gallery operators. Other ideas include approaching local cafes to sell on commission from their walls. I did that successfully for a few years. The cafe gets art on its walls, and you get exposure. Enter competitions in photographic magazines. I don't know what is on the shelves in the USA, but American Photographer and related magazines and art magazines can help get you exposure. Assuming you're a relatively competent fine art photographer, the main factor is determination and persistence. You won't make a lot of money, but it's always good to sell your stuff. |
