There鈥檚 an art show in an Art Gallery. The artist has created a huge pile of different paintings; he periodically picks up one of the paintings and hangs it on the wall, and adjusts it. At 11:00, the painting titled "Number 30" was hung. At 4:00, the painting titled "Number 240" was hung. At 7:30, the painting titled "Number 315" was hung. What painting will the artist hang on the wall at 9:20? Nice question.... But a little easy... The answer is 200.... counting from the minute hand going leftwards, each painting picked is equivalent to numeral of the degree the hour hand makes with the minute hand. hence at 11:00 its 30 degree - hence painting no30 at 4:00 its 240 degree - hence painting no 240.... so on and so forth... hence at 9:20 painting number 200 will be picked up... between 11:00 to 4:00 he fixes 210 paintings this means in 5hours or 300minutes he fixes 210 paintings So at 9:20 the painting titled 434 is hung. calculate this for answer (210/300)*620 620 minutes is the time between 11:00 and 9:20 so answer is 434 434 "Number 315" The Art Gallery closes at 7:30. See, if you just calculate, the difference is 7 every ten minutes, From 11. to 4. there is a difference of 5*6 ten minutes. Which is equal to 30. So till 4. pm there is a total difference of 30*7(no.of ten minutes*differnce in every ten minutes)=210 (In 5 hour, no. of minutes=5*60; so number of ten minutes is 5*6) Now, from 7.30 to 9.20, there's a difference of 11 ten minutes. So, the number he will hang at 9.20 is =315 + 11*7 = 392 My answer maybe be right, i don't think its mere guess work. Time 11.00---- 4.00---- 7.30----- 9.20 Period ------5 hr ----3.30 hr-----1hr. 50 min Minutes-----300, ------210, ----------110 painting hung --------------(240 鈥?30), ---(315 鈥?240) So painting hung 210, ---- 110 Observe the time lapse and painting hung So he will hang 110 more painting i.e. 315 + 110 = 425 The artist will hang the "Number 410" on the wall at 9:20 |
