Help me remember a book I've read - Mystery/Thriller Based in New York City? |
A year or so ago I read a mystery/thriller/crime book based in New York city. One of the characters was a beautiful woman who owned an art gallery in the city. Another character was the former mayor or police chief of New York city. The book starts out with certain powers that be trying to convince the former police chief/mayor to run for a higher political office (I forget what it was). Some how the former police chief/mayor ends up in a weird romantic relationship with the art gallery owner. Also the art gallery owner has another weird romantic relationship with 2 male police detectives (I think that is what they were). I do remember near the end of the book that the former police chief/mayor ends up dead on a houseboat. Can't remember much else of the book, other then I think it was written by one of the "popular" authors in this genre. Does anyone have any idea what book I'm trying to remember? The two principal characters are the writer mentioned above who is suspected of one of the killer's murders and an art gallery owner whose sexual addiction drives her to all sorts of interesting behavior, much of which is described in great detail.
