Your site would be ok under Yahoo's rules, a link farm is a site that is just a collection of links for no other reason than to link. The way you described your site you will have images of this artwork with links to the related gallery. Thus your links will be relevant to each other and shouldn't fall under that restriction from Yahoo. I do recommend adding more content than just the links though, just to be on the safe side. (i.e. profiles of the artists/galleries, etc.) Yahoo hates link farms and is very strict about it. You can avoid being found as a "ffa" or free for all links page by only obtaining one way (inbound or pointing to your site only) links from relevant sources.
