Bruges - What's the best attraction / gallery / charity shop / junk shop / CD shop? |
I'm going to Bruges in 2 weeks and wondered what's the best attraction / gallery / charity shop / junk shop / CD shop? I like places that are not chain stores, I like modern art, junk and magic found in dusty shops. Failing that lovely healthy places to eat. I'd love your help... Brugge is so beautiful that it IS the attraction. Just meander around. There are hordes of people though so do get off the beaten path once you have seen the center. Once you get a few streets away you will find a lively normal community of non-tourist people and places. Everything you want you will find. Several veggie restaurants too. Ask at the info office in the center by the Belfry. They're friendly and open. They won't just give touristy advice. Enjoy it. Bruges doesn't have alot of what I'd call "attractions" It is a very beautiful historical city. There is bell tower in the main square that is amazing - go up and see the beautiful view. The best way to see Bruges is via the many horse and buggy rides available or the canal boat tour is great too. The best place ot eat is in any of hte restaurants in the main square. Best attraction:The holy blood church, they save over there the blood of Jesus. Best restaurant is in the center at the square' t zand and it calls:Marilyn Monroe.Everyday they have a set menu very good food and not too expensive, very friendly service. Best souvenir is of course the lace, but also the chocolates you can find several chocolats shops in the centre. I know Brugge. |
