Absinthe in Art??

I am doing a report in art history on use of Absinthe in impressionism and 18th century parisian cafe culture. Basically, i am supposed to pretend i am a gallery currator, trying to arrange a show. i need to shoot for at least eight pieces by artists/absinthe drinkers....the catch is, i am really only looking for pictures with absinthe, absinthe drinkers, and absinthe symbolism...so far i have lined up
Van Gough-"Still Life with Absinthe"
Degas -"The Absinthe Drinker" (L'absinthe)
Edouard Manet-"The Absinthe Drinker"
Toulouse-Lautrec- "portait of Vincent Van Gogh"

can you think of anything else??

Authors and artists were the greatest users of absinthe as it supposedly induced creativity. Here is a site: http://absinthe.msjekyll.com/

Here is a site with various paintings and such that has associations with absinthe: http://absinthe.msjekyll.com/album/photo... Just click on each icon to view a larger image and most times there is more information on the art.

thank you! i've been to most of those sites before in my research, but the one with tthe gallery was one i hadnt been to before. I've been doing this research for a month and there were still picture in there i hadnt seen! nice work :)

picasso made a fabulous 'absinthe drinker'
Picasso also did a painted bronze sculpture of an absinthe glass. It's in the Philadelphia MOMA. Also just google "the glass of absinthe" (which is another interpretation of the Degas title) and click images for at least 4 more pieces. The Picasso is not included in those but you should be able to locate it under his name with that same title. Good luck.
I can't think of any right now, but keep looking, because "absinthe makes the heart grow fonder" ; )
I'm sorry, I don't know of any others. But I sure would love to read your paper when it's done! It sounds great.
