Has any body out there got any ideas for places to display and sell art work apart from usual galleries etc? |
has any other artists out there tried unusual venues or sites and got positive results. i believe art should be everywhere but then again i'm an artist and also believe it should be my artwork thats out there (ha ha) any ideas would be truly helpful. How about, cafe's and bars etc... places where people go to chill out... You could suggest iit as a trial - the cafe gets free art work that changes regularly and you get to display your work - win win situation... Source(s): p.s. It has worked for me in the past... Good Luck I always ask the owners of my favorite places to hang out if they'd display something of mine, and leave some info with it so people could contact me. That way I know the type of people who come there. Do you spray paint at all? Do a mini mural on the back window of your car. yeah I know... but I just needed some money. You gotta start somewhere. What about Ebay. As part of a home interior display package for new homes and/or modular homes,(I've seen works for sale while touring modular home sales-parks). Try festivals, outdoor craft/trade shows,...ect. Farmers are spiritual people. I'd try setting up some artworks at a local food or farmers market. ...buy a tent and set up a booth displaying and selling your artwork. Best of luck. I know of several doctors who have displayed their patients' works on their waiting room walls, all with a discreet little sign underneath to indicate the paintings were for sale via the artist. A lawyer here does the same, as does a financial adviser, and a real-estate broker. Asking can do no harm. And most of these places don't expect a commission. |
