How do you get your art noticed/into galleries and such? |
I want to get my art noticed but im not sure how. Does any one have any tips, pointers, advice, etc? Local cafes are always a great idea. Coffee shops, small eateries. You would be surprised at the number of people that patron these establishments that have an interest in art. Not a great suggestion but somewhere to start. If nothing else your art will be viewed publicly. You usually have to start with a private show, unless you have a generous sponsor. Are you studying art in a school or working by yourself? Sometimes several artists get together and have a one-day showing somewhere (that way they can share the costs) and begin to gain some recognition. Once you have a couple of shows under your belt, and possibly a couple of sales, you can go to a gallery and make a pitch to have them show your art. Good luck!
