Should I take photography or art history next year?

i'm going to be a high school junior.
I'd want to learn photography to learn the skill....and i think it would be so much fun b/c of how hands on it is.
but art history is an ap course, i'm interested in art, and we get to go to galleries and art museums a couple times a year.
please list pros and cons in your answer.

There are pro's and cons for both sides and really depend on your own goals so these are some things to help you come to your own decision. Try using de Bono's six thinking hats to evaluate with.
Make a list under each hat heading thoughts around each.
White hat. What are
The facts that I know about each. Also worth asking what do I need to know more about?
Black Hat What should I be cautious about
Red Hat. How do I feel about each course
Yellow Hat is the Logical Positive. What benefits do I expect from each course.
Green Hat: Creative thinking What might I do after taking each course? Are there other courses that may give me more than either of these two? etc...
Blue Hat. de Bono likens this to the policeman's hat. It is about control, regulations, restrictions, guidelines, following directions.
In some ways pigeon holing your thought process helps you see what is influencing your decion making and allows you to put weight on one over another.

Here's a list of some other questions to ask yourself:
1. How does each fit in with my long term goals and plans?
2. How does each fit with my short term goals?
3. Is doing photography a burning desire in me or just a something I'd like to know more about someday want.
4. What is my attitude to doing Art History. Some people find the subject boring and make it hard for those who want to be there. If doing it just to get some credit is not necessarily a good way to do the course.
5. What is the rest of your course load like. If it is particularly heavy sometimes a hands on course can break up the study and make going to school worth while from a life is meant to be fun point of view. Having fun reduces stress and may help you lighten up with the more serious subjects. Bearing in mind that photography can have as much academic information to learn depending upon the teacher.
6. What do past students say about the teachers teaching styles?
7. What resources does the school have for each.
(I've seen some pretty meager photography courses getting by with little and others with great equipment. Some specialize in film and others in Digital. Some do both so it is worth finding out more about these things. Source(s): http://members.optusnet.com.au/~charles5...
do it i love thee arts and u can always minor in it instead of majoring in it so u can still have other options
I think do whatever to help you get a better future in life.
will art help you to your dream job?
They both sound interesting, but i would do photography......................
