Hi is there any website that I can search for Greeks Mythology art paintings gallerys? |
Gallery art paintings of Athena,Achilles,Ares,King Leonidas & I forgot the one has snakes in her head. Please no Yahoo or go Google images.Thank you. :) Medusa was the name of the woman with the snakes on her head. Ancient Grecian pictoral scenes were mainly composed of Mythological Figures. That is what the Ancients believed in at the time, gods,godessess,mythology and their dieties. You will not find any in any gallery that I am aware of, due to the fact that they are a protected historical document. So to see the Ancient Greek paintings, which were initially done on pottery,in Architechture and on the walls such as you will see in many of the Greek Islands. Other wise you have to go to the various Museums around the world that have some exhibitions of the Artifacts on display. The illustrations in your art hisotry book should say which museums the paintings are in - google those museum names! Why no Yahoo or Google Image search? If you use good search parameters combinations these can be useful tools. The one with snakes on her head is Medusa the Gorgon. Leonidas is NOT a myth he was a historical figure! search on " about.com" |
