Art lover vacation? |
I have a major crush on art , specifically dutch masters paintings , also Monet , Deja..etc. I am planning a 10 day vacation somewhere in Europe to indulge my passion . It would be either in April or May.I don't also mind a bit of sightseeing on the side but my main objective would be checking art galleries. The two countries that spring to mind easily are France and the netherlands. What country do you suggest ? 10 days? Not much time to see much art! I would suggest The Netherlands and Belgium if you want to see Dutch and Flemish masters' paintings. Thr Riijks Museum in Amsterdam is amazing. Also, you can take the train from Amsterdam to the Kroller-Meuller Museum. In Brussels you'll find the Rembrandt Museum, for one. Source(s): I'm an art freak, too. I personally am fond of Italy, because in 10 days you get to see so much. In 10 days, you could do Venice, Florence and Rome and thus see the very highlights of Roman and Italian renaissance arts. But you want to see Monet and Deja and the Dutch masters... The problem is that the works of these artists are so widely spread across the art galleries of the whole world. It is hard to advice you on where to go to. I agree though that Amsterdam is amazing - especially the Rijksmuseum and the Picasso museum. The Netherlands are the prime location for a lover of the Dutch masters. Art freak, travelling all over Europe and going to places primarily for the art galleries and the architecture. |
