Breaking into the Art World? |
I am a photographer and live in s.a texas. I really wanted to get into some more art shows, but don't know how to find any...being that most of them are underground art galleries. how can i get my work shown out there? http://www.fanartreview.com/index.jsp?re... This is a great place to start.. make a profile on there and you can sell your work for free. It does cost 7 dollars a month for a premier membership but you can sign up now for free.. If you use a digital camera, then putting your photos online will be easy. Once they're online, you can show them to people in a gallery format. I use Kodakgallery.com. Also, business cards are good to pass out. Try to spread your name as much as possible to your friend's friends and see where it takes you. I hope that this helps. Make a name for your self. I am an artist in fine arts 2D and 3D works. Have personal showings at restaurants or other places and invite the press. It worked for me. Soon they are showing up at your front door. I live in texas also and where i live there is a big shortage of cultural activities. San Antonio? You should have aplethora of opportunities for shows. I think the trick is to get in and meet as many artists as you can and get the connections you need.. or you could promote a showing at clubs and such..
