Why are girls who work in art galleries so damn stuck up? |
Especially gallery girls in Manhattan's Upper East Side. Gagosian gallery probably having the worst snotty girls. That's a good question Joe, and one that can not be answered too easily. You know the NY attitude is really a facade and all one has to do is be kind to be shown kindness. Works in almost all settings, the kids at the front desk's included. What is important to keep in mind is that those hot chicks in Chelsea's galleries are hit on all day long and have built in an impeneratable field of "I don't give a **** about you." but rest assured thay are still approachable. Add to the mix the truely snotty ones that think they're job as pee-on at Gagosian means something and then you have the real snot. But let them slip on by, there are plenty of other nice people in NY galleries with out the "my poop don't stink, holier than thou attitude." <;^) because their mom were stuck up too its a reaction to snotty nosed kids i think part of the criteria for getting hired, probably. Well, the Upper East side is where a lot of the "monied" people are. It could be just that those girls are putting on an attitude that they think fits with the area. Or they could just be rude. I prefer the atmosphere Downtown, personally. |
