Need a webste for free clip art to use in a bridal shower invitation?(something modern looking)? |
I'm looking or a website that has free clip art. I'm making invitations for a bridal shower and I can't find anything modern or fresh looking in my clip art gallery. The kind of image I had in mind was a bridal gown, or a purse, umbrella, or something else fun that goes along with a shower. Even a pretty background would be good. Martha Stewart has a lot of clipart. Unless you have a pirated copy of word you can go to the Microsoft website and browse through hundreds of thousands of items. *office.microsoft.com* If you have some time you can have a art student do a custom drawing for you for pretty cheap. I do commisioned work of portraits every now and again for peoples birthday's or an anniversary and it always seems to be a hit with the people who get them. Beware of the "free clip art" websites unless they are run by a well known company like microsoft...they are usually just an excuse to download a horrible virus. You can also capture any picture you show on your computer screen without downloading. Simply press Cntrl + Prt Sc (in the F row) and then open up any image program like paint. Hit Cntrl + V and then crop to only have the image you want for the invitations. Here's some scrolls, swooshes and clipart for free Veer.com is what designers use for layouts, designers increase the dpi in photoshop which can look somewhat reasonable on a inkjet printer. http://www.moorstation.org/typoasis/orna... http://www.urbanfonts.com/dingbats/princ... http://www.houseoflime.com/dings/wedding... http://www.veer.com/products/detail.aspx... Another idea is to scan a design you like into your computer and then use that. I have this cool scro,l design I am using for my invites. Downside was that the black scroll was on a cream background. I wanted to layer that black scroll with the cream background on white paper and it just looked odd. My mom scanned the patterned paper for me and changed the background to white. Check out some scrapbooking stores for a funky paper you like. The whole purse, bridal gown thing is very in right now so I wouldn't think it would be too difficult. You can find lots in the search engine. just look You can use any art you find, just drag it to your desktop, then when in Microsoft Word creating your invitations, just go to add clip art, then dump the pic from your desktop into the clip art program and presto, whatever you want is in there, you can left click on the pic and change the size, layout, ect to suit your needs. I just completed my invitations with art this way and they look completely professional, let me know if you need help! Just printed my own invitations |
