What does it mean when a gallery is "retiring" a piece of art?

it means that they are no longer going to be displaying it
it means they are placing that piece of art in one of their storage rooms, where most galleries keep most of the art they own, out of sight of the public.
I TTYPICALLY MEANS THEY WILL NO LONGER BE USING THAT PIECE IN THE GALLERY OR ART SHOW.
