I'm a young artist, how can i sell my art or put my paintings in a gallery, how can i gain exposure? |
i'd like to put it on an art website for free What about a portfolio of your art and show it around town. what big city are you near? u must be really good then, well first u could start with just opening your own shop, yeah, it will pobably cost a lot, but if your paintings are really good, u are bound to make a lot. I'm a artist myself. There are many Free art sites where you can show your artwork. Take a look at mine and decide if you'd like to join Artwanted.com http://www.artwanted.com/trish This is a great site for exposure online. I would also encourage you to join your local art league. They have exhibits, functions, etc to participate in, in your home state. Personal This is a question every artist asks. 1 Do exeptional work. 2. Get yourself the book artist's and graphic designers market. it will explain a lot of the ins and outs of the bussines. 3. show your work at art fairs and group shows. 4. Join local art groups. 5.get a web site. 6.Put your work in art competitions. 7 Have lot of persistence and do a lot of leg work. good luck Artist First of all you got to have a fisical and online portfolio with atleast 20 pices of your work, find galleries that fit with yout style of work and email them, if you leave near that gallery take your portfolio and ask them if they could review it, takes alot of time and pations to actually get in to a gallery, it took me about 1000 emails sent to galleries requesting to please review my portfolio if they had opening on a group show, i got alot of rejections but also alot of invitations, i also sent out about 40 cds with pics of my work , artist statement bio, experience etc so that works great if u still think u need more , go to myspace open an account and do a search for galleries there a whole bunch there always open to talk artwork submissions from emerging artist, take care and good luck |
