How do Art Galleries create business?


Besides selling art and other items to the foot traffic that comes in the door, what other opportunities do art galleries have for creating business?

National Endowment for the Arts gives grants to deserving galleries. Also, collections/estates owned by the gallery fetch high re-sell prices over time.
Some times the artist will rent the space to do a show.
