How do i get my art work in a gallery? |
What advice can you give me to start getting my art work noticed? I was thinking of asking restaurants to display it and offer them a percentage of the sale price if it is sold? I know i have to start off small, but my ambition is to have my work displayed in a gallery- even on a very small scale. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks First, you must construct a highly professional portfolio of your work. Your portfolio should be leather or "pleather" with your work neatly bound. Take your portfolio and your CV with you to various galleries. Show them your work. Join as many local associations for artists and network, network, network. Make sure that your work becomes recognizable. In time, you will find galleries willing to show one or two of your works. If the public responds to your work and, better yet, purchases your work, you will soon be asked to present a show. Good luck! Show them to some galleries, ask advice from them on how to get your work showed. Go to galleries and ask politely how you can get your work showed. Just give an advertisement about it any popular dailies and may be ur dream could come true get in touch with some art gallery & offer them perks.They will sure oblidge U. Also hope ur paintings are good. Hey mojo jo jo i hav no clue how you can get your art in but you nick name is really bad surely if your a painter you can be a little more creative and think up your own nick name rather than copyin 4rm the power puff girls!!!!!!! as a gallerist i would never show an artist who offers me perks. we sometimes have artists coming in and they say: i want to show here next month (or similar). you also have to understand that a gallery is a business and as every business galleries are run along different lines. i wish you patience, perseverance and good luck. You could sneak into one at dusk, then covertly set up your installation. If done with minimum distraction, it might be accepted as having been there. This would get your work noticed by the public. Even if it failed it would be good PR stunt. It would be a work of art in itself, after all the definition of art is, Human skill as opposed to nature.
