Hello everybody, i need ideas for an art gallery project for the university, like: theme , concept ,form [;? Why not do a social/historical evolution of the depiction of... something. An example would be the depiction of the female form from prehistory to the present (or pick an arbitrary end point, like 1900). You could represent the first known art depicting the female form as the goddess/earth mother, into fertility representations, into Greek and Roman idylls, through dark age religious iconography, into Renaissance masters, progressing through Gothic and Romantic visages into the tumultuous experimental-ism of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. If that is too broad a scope, then you can select a specific time period or style like the Dutch Masters, the Renaissance, or the period of experimental-ism. Instead of the female form, it could be the child, nature, the role of the sun, landscapes, seascapes; photographic images of a specific culture, time period, event, portraiture. There are so many places and ways to go with this. I hope I have helped.
