Where can i watch video art after its time in an art gallery is over: who keeps an archive of this material? The film or arts sections of University libraries are good for this. You may be able to get access if you are doing some kind of research maybe or have friends as students? have you had a look on you tube? try it :) I don't know where you are, but go to a public library that has many departments to help you. I know from calling the Fine Arts Department of The Dallas Public Library that some libraries have many divisions. I'll bet a library like that can help you. You should probably contact the art gallery where it was shown, to ask who owns the work. If the gallery purchased the work, they may be able to arrange a viewing for you, but if the work is now privately owned, it's unliekly you'll see it again unless it's loaned out to another gallery in the future. Artists do make DVDs of their work, so if you contact either the gallery or the artist directly, it should be possible to get a copy. |
